I've been to The Queensboro twice, with Thanksgiving being the most recent visit. They offered a prix fixe menu for $86. The first course included soup shooters, a bread basket, salad, and squash fondue. I thought we would have to pick one but all of the offerings came to the table, and my group was delighted to have such variety. Additionally, we ordered mac and cheese and chips (not included in the prix fixe). For the main course, most of my group ordered the turkey entree, which included brussel sprouts, sausage stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mashed potatoes. And one person did the pot roast of which I had a taste. I can't say anything stood out, but the food was good and satisfying (though I would say the pot roast was better than the turkey, which could have used more seasoning). For dessert, they offered 3 choices of pie. I chose the chocolate pecan, which was delicious. But what really made the whole experience enjoyable was the family ambiance and the lovely service. The servers were fantastic and the manager made sure to interact with our table more than once. We could see the kitchen crew working hard and pumping out orders in a timely fashion (hats off to them). My group left full and happy and I would return for Holiday meals without the fuss of hosting of cooking at home.
Service was so friendly! Quick and efficient! The ambience was fun and chill. They had a rustic feel. It seems like a fine place to bring kids because there were a lot of families with their small kids! My friends and I enjoyed our dishes very much and our cocktails were great and well balanced. We ordered chilaquiles verdes with chicken, potato gratin, and eggs Norwegian. Both of my friends enjoyed their dishes a lot. I enjoyed mine as well. It was well balanced. They offered my friend's daughter some coloring crayons and a page for coloring! I would come back for a nice brunch/lunch/dinner!
Amazing array of foods on The Queensboro brunch menu, come and check it out for yourselves ! The service is very authentic as it says "About Us " on their website , I've witnessed it , they focus on their community. It's my first time going there and were they very welcoming and very accommodating. As I observed more families coming in , the way they hug sit down their customers and entertain its like all of these people are they're own families ! Never seen such a thing , love love love it ! Ambiance ? Live plants and a rustic flatware of choice , yes I do pay attention to details ! So do I need to say more ! Come and dine with the Jackson Heights community . P.S. i have to emphasize they also support and do fundraising for locals , I will come back and dine in more and also give back to the community .
Good brunch. Husband got the pancakes (that dulce de leche butter was killer). I had the chorizo hash, which was also very good. Coffee was fine. Service was a little slow, but it was brunch so maybe "leisurely" was the right mode for things. It was a little loud inside (and there was live music too). But overall, this was a fine place for a meal.
Came back again! I love the jerk chicken and last night was my third time getting the dish. I always get the miso cauliflower and lemon broccoli as my two sides. Also got the mai tai and this is probably one of the drinks they have that I really like! Can't wait to visit again
My perfect Sunday in Jackson Heights would start with brunch at The Queensboro. Conveniently located not far from the Jackson Heights farmers' market (which would be my next stop), it's situated down a more quiet side street, making it a solid place to dine al fresco. The menu changes seasonally which helps keep things feeling fresh and new at The Queensboro. The drinks are strong and well-priced, and the menu has a variety of different options from different culinary influences, with a strong Latin theme. Some may say that this makes the restaurant lack identity while situated in the middle of the most diverse borough of NYC, but I've found it helpful when bringing a large group who are all craving different things. Everyone can find something they'll like on this menu, and they cater to dietary restrictions and allergies as well. There's a decent amount of vegetarian offerings, too. On my last visit we split one of the waffle specials which was the right move, along with some burgers and a benedict special featuring a bagel topped with giant slabs of bacon. Everything was delicious, but we did find the service to be a bit slow. Not a deal breaker, just something to be aware of if you're coming in this place with a hard out time.
The Queensboro is a really nice spot to have a sit down meal. They have a variety of interesting menu options, and they even have a pretty extensive brunch menu on the weekend. They had a special for brunch when I went that reminded me a lot of a shakshuka. It was delicious, and delightfully warm on a cold winter day. However, my girlfriend got a cheeseburger, and was less impressed. It seemed like the burger was a very basic cheeseburger, without much seasoning or anything notable about it. That said, it wasn't prepared badly, just wasn't something she'd get again. So, with the food, your mileage may vary, but there are definitely options here that are extremely good.
This is an awesome neighborhood joint. The two times I've been were both packed with people who live around the area, my family included. They have a great menu with unique items. The aesthetic is right up my alley, especially all the live plants. Things I've tried: Garlic Clam Bread - one of the unique items they have, very good Rigatoni Ala Norma, Fusili with Lamb Sausage, Shrimp & Chorizo Pasta - very good Eggs Benedict - solid Ricotta Fritters - amazing Service is very good too. Friendly and attentive. Excellent option in the area.
I came here for an early dinner with my boyfriend and his mother. We were seated quickly and taken our order right away. I had their cosmo and their shrimp and chorizo pasta. As a starter, we ordered their shrimp cocktail. It was very refreshing and I was surprised that they used jumbo shrimp. My cosmo was good, not the best one I have had tho. It was a bit smaller than I expected and it was more in the bitter side instead of sweet. My pasta was absolutely delicious, the shrimp were well cooked and the sauce they used was not too heavy and was very tasty. I expected chunks of chorizo in the pasta but instead it was grounded pieces which didn't overpower the whole pasta. I wish they did have more options on their menu; some of their items seem so far fetched that some of the pickier people might find it hard to select something; my mother in law ended up ordering a burger with fries.
